Uniformity matters when it comes to throwing plates and other large flat discs. This tool makes achieving that a breeze. Center your clay, create a hollow in the center, then simply insert the middle leg of this tool until the outer supports rest on your wheel head or bat. Then pull the tool slowly toward yourself, keeping the supports anchored vertically on the wheel head. You'll have a perfectly flat, perfectly thrown dinner plate or large platter in seconds. With this tool, you can create plates as small as a few inches and as large as 12 inches.

1 lb of clay yields a 6-8" plate.

2 lbs of clay yields a 12" plate.
