You've never made handles this easily. No more pulling clay or rolling by hand. No more inconsistent shaping. Uniformity and expediency for handles is finally here.
Buyers can choose from three different kit sizes when purchasing. Each kit makes the same generic shape, but the widths of the handles will vary from kit to kit:
SMALL KIT: 1/2" (13mm) width
MEDIUM KIT: 5/8" (16mm) width
LARGE KIT: 3/4" (19mm) width
If you're making handles for teacups or espresso cups, you may want the small kit for a daintier touch. Handles for coffee mugs look better with the medium kit, and pitchers and larger vessels may benefit from the large kit, which outputs wider, slightly thicker handles.
Each kit has three different roller shapes: raised bead, divot, and smooth. See pictures for details. We include a detailed assembly and maintenance booklet with every purchase.
Our machine compresses, shapes, and cuts in one steady turn of the handle. You get a perfect handle every time. It's designed so that handles will always have a smooth underside, but interchangeable cutting rollers mean you get three options for topside decoration.
This handle roller has "quick-snap" assembly -- meaning you won't need any tools to assemble, disassemble, change rollers, clean, etc. We designed a single tool that can do all of that and it's no larger than your thumb.
While it is portable, it can be a bit clunky if it isn't held down, so we designed two mounting holes in the base to let you secure this to your workbench or work block with screws for a more permanent and stable user experience.
Clay sticking? Some light sticking is normal. You may have to peel your handles from the rollers as you use the machine. And, again, that's normal. We often peel our handles away. If your clay is not too wet, they'll separate very easily with no mess.
We advise against using a "wet" clay. A sticky clay will cause unwanted glue-like action, and makes for a discouraging experience. Please do not use wet or sticky clay.
Regardless of how dry the clay, we recommend a dusting of cornstarch or talc before rolling to improve performance--it just makes things more efficient and user friendly.
Made from PETG plastic with stainless steel hardware, this manual machine is 100% waterproof. It may stain, like all plastics, but it will never become brittle or compromised with use. It is rigid, durable, and cleaning is a breeze -- just give it a wipe with a damp sponge and let it air dry. Apply talc or cornstarch when dry before further use.
